IT'S GONE :D

The smell in the upstairs of our house is FINALLY gone! I hated even being in our second bedroom and although not as strong, our own bedroom smelled too... When the people came to replace it, we found out they were putting in wood not new carpet and we got to see what was underneath causing the smell. Remember those 5 pit-bulls I mentioned before, I dedicate this post to them!

On another note, Brandon started work on Monday! He has enjoyed it and is getting to understand what the company does better every day!

While Brandon is at work (from 8-6:30) I scrapbook! Here are some samples of some of my favorite pages!

One year, almost fully moved in, and... dinosaurs?

Brandon and I had our first year anniversary on the 14th! It was a Sunday so we had a nice home cooked meal (BBQ chicken, mashed potatoes, and corn, of course) and cookies and cream ice cream for dessert!

The next day, Brandon took me on a surprise anniversary date! I had mentioned wanting to try Pedro's Tacos, it is this little restaurant down the street that I had seen long lines outside of on many occasions! The fact that he remembered me mentioning the restaurant made it really sweet, and the walk along the pier with ice cream cones sealed the deal, I'll keep him :).

Here is our house, the downstairs is pretty much finished, the upstairs still has some work to do BUT we are not in a hurry since we are REALLY hoping they replace the carpet! After going through 2 boxes of arm & Hammer carpet Oder eliminator powder, and a bottle of febreez carpet spray it STILL smells like dog up there! Not to mention that it just plain feels gross! If you ever think that having 5 pit-bulls and no backyard is a good idea, just come smell my carpet and you will change your mind!

I need to find a picture to hang in here!

we have a walk in closet :)

ITS A LINEN CLOSET :D :D oh the little thrills in life!

This is the smelliest room of all!

We got  a futon to go under Mckenzie's painting, but left it in the car in case they decide to replace the carpets, one less thing to haul out of there!!

Our sticky stairs! (the paint is new, thus... sticky??)
Now for the downstairs!

Some people would call it a nice big entry way, we call it bike storage!

I am challenged when it comes to decorating so I'm really proud of my bathroom!

We have plenty of cupboard space, unfortunately, most of it is 10 feet high! I keep a step ladder between the wall and the fridge!

I always loved this kind of stove growing up, they are the best marshmallow roasters out there! But now that I actually use them to cook, I must say new is definitely improved!

So a few weeks ago (wow I can't believe its been that long) we went to st. George with my family. It was a really fun weekend . They found dinosaur tracks there and made a museum over the tracks!
Some doctor of paleontology made these out of paper! Haha i was imagining an old professor sitting in his office with a bow tie and coke bottle glasses making origami dinosaurs whenever he did not have to teach!

It's hard to see but that IS a dinosaur footprint!

Moving to California

After two days of driving (we stopped in Vegas for the night) Brandon and I arrived at our new 4-plex. I don't like calling it an apartment because it feels more like a house to me... but it really isn't, so 4-plex is what I call it! When we arrived we went inside to see the place had been cleaned up, freshly painted, and aired out. The only thing missing was the window screens but they will be back to finish up. Not long after we arrived Brandon's wonderful family was there to help us move in.
After everything was unloaded and the truck returned, it was time to get the bed upstairs!
Me- Brandon, I'm worried about getting the box spring mattress upstairs. Brandon- Just leave it to me!

Ya, this thing is not getting upstairs without taking part of the ceiling with it!

So... Cory cut it in half with a hand saw!

Then the boys screwed  new pieces of wood in where they had cut and added some glue! We slept on it last night and it held!
I am afraid of my own stairs! Yes, it's true. I am terrified that I will slip and fall down this definitely not to code staircase!
Our living room is still the only one that is pretty much finished. The only thing left in here is to hang the rest of our pictures!

That night we took a walk through our neighborhood and down to the beach!

The path leading down from our neighborhood to the beach!

The next day, we headed off for a camping trip at the beach!

Brandon bought me a wetsuit so I could go in the ocean with him. I was hesitant when I found out, I had no desire to get into that freezing cold wild water!!

Brandon taught me how to catch a wave and body surf it. (I'm still learning)

Can you find me?

BUT... I ended up really enjoying the waves and will be doing it again!

Long after I came back to the beach a group of dolphins decided to surf the waves only about 10 feet from where the boys were. We heard a guy say he was almost able to reach out and touch one. I didn't think dolphins would come so close to the shore but it was a treat to watch them!

The next day was much colder and the sky was covered with clouds, but I enjoyed napping on the beach! And watching a beautiful sunset (that was also mostly covered by clouds).
