Our Choice!!

This weekend, Brandon and I flew to California to look at apartments. We found some really nice ones which were also either very expensive or very far away! The last apartment we went to turned out to be our choice! It is in San Clemente, about 3-4 miles from Brandon's office. It is also less than a 5 minute walk until your toes get wet at the San Clemente beach!

Our house is not right above the peer but about 4 minutes to the right and then 5 minutes up a hill and through our neighborhood.

When I first entered the apartment I got a sick feeling in my stomach, the smell, the awful paint job, the flies and the dog hair EVERYWHERE were the first things to make me want to run. Then we noticed that a cupboard door was on the floor, all the fire detectors were missing, and there was dog food in the sink... this is when I was thinking, a 30 minute commute wouldn't be THAT bad would it? Luckily for Brandon (because he wanted this place from the start) when the manager came in he was completely appalled! He had been told that the apartment was move in ready! Once the manager assured us that he would get a cleaning crew in there to do some deep cleaning, replace the screens so bugs could no longer get in, re-paint the walls, replace the fire alarms, AND shampoo the carpets... I found myself getting excited about the place! It really is a cute apartment.

It has a large entry way, a kitchen, living room and dining room downstairs along with a half bathroom. Upstairs there are two bedrooms (the master has a walk in closet :D) and a full bathroom. There is a coin washer and dryer at the back of the 4-plex which we will share with the other tenants and covered parking! Unfortunately Brandon and I both forgot our cameras so all I have are the Craigslist photos but as soon as we move in, I will upload a few more photos. Now all we have to do is wait for our application to be accepted and get the keys!

Brandon and I were married on August 14, 2010 in the Mt. Timpanogos LDS Temple for time and all eternity :)

Brandon and I met in September 2008 when we were in the same ward (church group) but did not get to know each other until the following spring. We started dating in May 2009, and got engaged in March of 2010. We spent most of our first summer dating either hiking or exploring the river near where we lived.
Brandon arranged for my sister to hide in some bushes and take pictures while he proposed! By the end she was thigh-high in snow and Brandon Literally had to lift her out of the snow and back on the path.

Camree was such a great sport taking all the pictures! Her response to everything was "My brother proposed to my sister!!" She was so excited for us!!

Brandon is from Southern California and spent most of his childhood reading, running around, climbing whatever he could, and breaking bones!

I lived the first half of my childhood in Alaska and the second half in Saudi Arabia. I played soccer every minute I could in Saudi Arabia and in Alaska, my childhood revolved around Alaskan salmon, or whatever else swam up to my fishing pole.

Now Brandon has graduated from the Marriott school of Management in Information Systems Management and will be starting his first full time job working for a company in San Clemente, California. He is so excited to be headed back to his roots (he was born and raised in Southern California) and to start working.
Unfortunately, I have to be back in Provo to finish student teaching this fall. I will graduate on October 18th with a degree in both elementary education and early childhood education and head to California to figure out what I need to do to be certified to teach there!
My friend Nikki calls this my "future teacher picture"

But for now, Brandon and I are packing up and moving to Orange County in 2 weeks! BEACH, HERE WE COME!!!
My first time on a boogie board and I took out a 10 year old!
